Beyond Document Designer is a report designer that works right inside Business Central, so you control the layout and content of your documents yourself. Start from a sample template for more than 40 documents, create as many templates of your own as you like, adjust header and footer, rename fields, add barcodes and conditions, and check the preview before sending – so professional documents go out faster, change cycles get shorter and customization costs drop.

A sample template for every document
Each of the more than 40 documents, from purchase order to reminder, comes with a sample template. Activate it once under Setup Report Selections and focus on your content.
Your letterhead on every document
Header and footer images, a watermark, font and font size are yours to set, so every document carries your corporate identity.
Every change in the preview
The preview shows the document as it will print. Open it in a second browser window and click Refresh after each change.
How the Business Central report designer works
Documents go out to customers and vendors on paper or by email. If a field is missing or a sentence is off, you fix it yourself on the report card, no ticket for the developers.
A new field in a few clicks
Requested delivery date on the order confirmation? Pick the field from the lookup, choose the layout area, check the preview.
You decide what's on the document
Switch line numbers, item numbers, prices, lines without quantity, VAT specification, page numbers and the signature area on or off per report.
Set up without coding
Everything happens on pages in Business Central: the report card, field lookups, dropdowns. No programming skills needed.
As many templates of your own as you need
Starting from the sample template, create as many templates of your own as you need, without a line of code. Any report can be reset to its defaults.
From logo to barcode: what you can change
The document lines themselves are fixed. Around them you can change almost everything, in nine layout areas from top left to bottom.
Letterhead per language and responsibility center
Set your own header and footer images per report, language and responsibility center, and choose whether each image prints on all pages, the first or the last.
Your own texts with placeholders
A thank-you line under the order confirmation, the customer reference in the text, a notice that only shows for a set period: text lines pull field values through placeholders, seasonal texts have a start and end date. Use HTML for links and colors.
Change field captions
Use your own wording: rename, hide or translate captions. The document picks the recipient's language automatically.
Data from linked tables
Print the salesperson's name, phone number and email instead of their code. Linked fields pull values from tables the report doesn't contain by default.
Barcodes and QR codes
Print a field such as the serial number as Code 39, Code 128, UPC/EAN or QR code.
Print fields only when conditions match
Salesperson details only on orders for one specific customer: if, and and or conditions decide when a field prints.
